Terms of Use

Two things matter more than the rest of this page, so they go first. Everything on this site is general information about the trade — it is not an inspection of your wall. And sending the estimate form is a request for us to look at your project, not a contract for work.

What this site is

This is an information site for All Phase Plastering and Stucco. It describes the work we do, explains how stucco and plaster fail, and gives you a way to reach us. Reading it puts you under no obligation and creates no agreement between us.

The guidance here is general. It is not an inspection of your wall.

A good part of this site is trade knowledge written out plainly — the knock test, what the different crack patterns mean, where water usually gets in, what a weep screed does, the self‑check list. All of it is true of stucco and plaster in general. None of it is a judgment about your building, because we have not seen your building.

Walls are particular. Two houses on the same street, built the same year by the same crew, can have the same crack for different reasons. A hollow sound can be a delaminated patch the size of a dinner plate or a whole elevation coming away from the wall behind it. A stain can be one failed sealant joint or ten years of rot in the sheathing. Photographs narrow it down. They do not settle it.

So please do not decide anything expensive or irreversible from a web page. Do not open a wall, skip a repair, put off a repair, or conclude that something is nothing, on the strength of what you read here. Have the wall looked at in person — by us, or by anybody else you trust to look at it properly. That is the only thing that tells you what is actually going on behind your finish.

Nothing on this site is engineering advice or legal advice, and nothing on it is a warranty of any kind.

Sending the form is a request, not a contract

Filling in the estimate form asks us to look at your project. It does not book work, hold a date, agree a price or commit either of us to anything. No work is agreed until there is a written scope — what we are doing, in what order, and what it costs — and you have said yes to it. Anything said before that, on the phone or in an email, is a conversation about the job. It is not the job.

It also cuts both ways. We may not be able to take the work. Distance, access, scheduling, and what the wall turns out to need all come into it, and we would rather say so than take on something we cannot do properly.

Photos you send us

Please send photos you took yourself, or that you are entitled to share.

We use them to work out what is wrong and to answer your question. We will ask you first before any photo of your property goes on this website. Sending us a picture is not permission to publish it, and we will not treat it as one. What happens to the rest of what you send is set out in our Privacy Policy.

What is on this site

The words, drawings and layout here are ours. Link to any page, print one out, hand it to whoever else is deciding — that is what it is for. Please do not copy these pages onto another website.

Other websites

Where a page links out to somebody else’s website, it is because what is there is worth reading. We do not control those sites and we are not responsible for what is on them.

Liability

We have put this site together carefully and we stand behind it as an honest account of the trade. Even so, it is general information, it can go out of date, and it cannot account for your particular building. To the fullest extent the law allows, All Phase Plastering and Stucco is not liable for any loss or damage arising out of your use of this website or your reliance on anything you read on it — including a repair you attempted, a repair you delayed, or money you spent because of something on these pages. Work we actually carry out for you is governed by the written scope for that job, not by this website.

Which law applies

These terms, and this website, are governed by the law of the State of Alabama.

Changes

We may add pages, change pages or take pages down. If these terms change, we will change this page and the date on it.
